        Hi Ute and MrCus,

        thx for the comments

Yes, this is the swimming chameleon, but this year he didn't swim because in july the weather wasn't verry well, I hope august will be better here.
Maybe we kan shoot some nice swimming pics again.
Probabely next week the weather will be better, so then we can place our chameleon again outside in our garden.

MrCus, where you also at the meeting in Boppard ?

        Kindest regards,

        Luc Somers

              Hello MrCus,

yes I remeber our conversation, it was outside in the garden, and Uli helped us with some translations from German language to English
How are the worms doing, do they clean up the bottom ?

For those who like it, he're is 1 picture from our swimmig chameleon.
I only post 1 picture because this picture and all the rest from the swimming chameleon are reservated for a new book.
This picture is copyrighted so it's forbidden to use it in publications without my permission.

This pond is 1,70 meter deep so here he swim in the deepest part in the middle.

I'm sorry, I didn't knew that it was forbidden to post pictures here on this forum, I don't know why , but no problem, I'm not going to post pictures anymore.

                    See you maybe later.

                    Best regards,

                      Hello Luc,

no, it's not forbidden to post pictures in this forum, it's forbidden to embed them into the postings due to possible bandwith restrictions of our users.

Feel free to post pictures, but please link to them.

It might not be as comfortable as embedding, but saves loading time for users with smaller bandwith.

                      Thanks a lot

                        Hello Marc,

now I understand, it's because of the bandwith, no problem, I'll post next time a link if I want to show a picture.

                        Kindest regards,

                        Luc Somers

                          Hello people,

                          Let's try the links

This is for me one of the best pictures from our chameleon.
We've won in Belgium and in The Netherlands a photocontest with this picture.

                          http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/7...26largepl6.jpg

We place our chameleon as much as possible outside in the sun, so that he can profit from the vitamines from the sun on his skin.

                          http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/1...29largemj3.jpg

Because of the UV-B waves from the sun, our chameleon makes on a natural way vitamines D3 in his body so that he can absorbate calcium in his bones, with a reducing chance of Matabolic Bone Deseases.

                          http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3...48small1hv.jpg

It's also important that you gutload your feeding insects before you give them to your chameleon.
I always gutload my insects 48 hours before I give them to our chameleon.
Also, it's important that you give him mixed food, not always the same insects.
Every insect has a different nutrition vallue, for example, waxworms have 80% calories from fat and 20% calories from proteïne.
Silkworm have 80% calories from proteïne, and only 20% calories from fat.

                          http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/6...46largene2.jpg

A combination of good gutloaded and mixed food and lots of sun are my best tips to keep your chameleon healthy.
And also long spraying is important, we always spray 2 or 3 times a day during several minutes so that the chameleon have the time to drink, they are slow thinkers, so they need time to react on the waterspray.

                          http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/2...21largedj4.jpg

I hope everybody can do something with this information.

                          http://img416.imageshack.us/img416/3...2006nr3ux0.jpg

I'm sorry that I can't write in German language, but I hope that you understand my point.

                          best regards,

                          Luc Somers
